Merchandising Store Specialists

Job Summary:

The store specialist is responsible for day-to-day operation of the respective web store subsidiary of Online Stores, to ensure the business is profitable and meets its growth and customer satisfaction objectives.


Essential Functions:


  • Identifies market trends
  • Researches vendors, competitive pricing of products, content and keywords
  • Evaluates potential vendors to ensure they meet Online Stores, Inc. standards
  • Selects new suppliers/vendors and product lines
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for first order and new products from existing vendors
  • Completes credit applications
  • Opens new vendor accounts
  • Works with the Purchasing Department to purchase initial inventory from new suppliers for new product lines
  • Sets pricing for products based on market trends
  • Completes new product spreadsheets to covert the vendor's product information into a StoneEdge compatible format
  • Obtains high resolution stock photos of products from vendors for the Graphics Department
  • Moves dead inventory with the guidance of the Merchandising Supervisor
  • Work with marketing dept to set up promotions such as free shipping, free gifts and other incentives
  • Updates web site content and makes seasonal changes to website products and promotions
  • Strategically place products to increase sales
  • Ensures that the website is content rich to draw traffic to the site
  • Conducts website reviews frequently with upper management
  • Completes daily reports as assigned
  • Periodically re-evaluates product sales based on promotional ideas


    Secondary Functions:

  • Handles quarantine issues - identifies merchandise when the warehouse staff is unable
  • Addresses help desk tickets as needed
  • Assists Customer Service with customer questions


  • Job Specifications:


    Education: Minimum - Associates Degree in Business, Marketing or related field; Preferred - Bachelors Degree

    Minimum Experience: Entry Level Opening; Preferred - 1 to 2 years progressively responsible experience with product management

    Knowledge: A strong understanding of e-commerce marketing is essential. Excellent computer skills with strength in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Proficient typing speed and accuracy. Preferred - Experience with StoneEdge Order Management system

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who has the ability to work without supervision on both short and long term projects
  • Ability to multitask and self-manage
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to meet strict deadlines
