LED R20 bulbs are a type of flood light bulb that has a reflective coating on the inside of the bulb. What does R20 mean on a light bulb?

The R stands for reflector. The 20 indicates the bulb's diameter in 1/8 of an inch.

Can you use PAR20 instead of R20?

PAR20 and R20 are two different types of LED bulbs, and while they may look similar, they are not interchangeable. PAR stands for parabolic aluminized reflector while R simply stands for reflector. PAR20 bulbs are designed for use in recessed downlights where focused light is needed, while R20 bulbs are designed to replace traditional incandescent bulbs for general or ambient lighting as well as where diffused light is needed. In addition to their varying applications, PAR20 and R20 bulbs have different wattages, sizes and shapes as well and cannot be used interchangeably.

What's the difference between BR20 and R20 bulbs?

PAR20 bulbs and R20 bulbs are not the same as BR20 and R20 bulbs are not the same as well. BR stands for bulged reflector and is often used for recessed downlights. BR20 bulbs have a wider beam angle than R20 bulbs.
