Do you need a spark screen for a fire pit?

A Spark Guard Screen is recommended for all open wood burning fire pit units because it restricts direct contact with the open flame and also prevents flying embers from leaving the fire chamber. If a spark guard screen is not use, the flying embers can pop out of the fire and burn you and/or your guests sitting around the fire. The embers can also cause damage to your nearby patio furniture, lawn and deck. 

How do you measure a fire pit spark screen?

To determine the best size Spark Guard Screen for your Fire Pit, you will want to measure the diameter of your fire pit as well as measure the width of the lip around the edge.
