Two flanges engage the grooves in each end of the adjoining sections, holding them securely together. Locking Bands must be used on the following:
- All sections that make up an offset
- On tee branch to attach a chimney length
- On any length suspended below the Cathdral or roof support
While locking bands are not required on other chimney lengths, their use is recommended for added safety and stability. It also provides a more attractive appearance.
